From my point of view, Photo editing is the behind-the-scenes process of flawless photo outcomes. Let’s walk you through it in more in-depth detail! People are often awestruck by seeing models’ snaps on Instagram (their compliments like – ‘how they look so flawless!!’). Not only that, but sometimes most of the products just caught our eyes on social media with their premium looks, and we often decide and order to get them.

Actually, behind these flawless photographs, professional photo editing plays the master role alongside proper photography.

To us (graphic designers), photo editing is a process of making a normal captured photograph into a flawless masterpiece by applying several basic & advanced methods (as the photo needs). The core purpose of photo editing is to enhance a photo’s quality.

For an easy example, imagine you captured a model’s photograph properly, but the lighting and makeup are imperfect in the result. Then you can confidently fix them through a photo editing service. Your captured photograph will be a professional & premium photograph.

Basic photo editing techniques are used for simple adjustments — and it’s very simple to do. Although it involves simple yet the adjustments are essential for enhancing the appearance. The techniques are —

Cropping: When an Image needs to get rid of unwanted edges or distractions, there cropping is extremely required. It also helps to focus on the main subject.

Resizing: When it comes to changing the dimensions of an image with the proper quality for use in social media, web optimization, or printing in specific sizes, there resizing is applied.

Straightening: To align a tilted or crooked horizon subject, the straightening process is used so that the subject can keep the viewer’s attention.

Rotating: To rotate or flip an image to the correct or desired angle, the rotation method is applied.

Sharpness: To make the details of your image clearer, the sharpness method is applied so that the textures or fine elements are showcased well.

Brightness and Contrast Adjusting: To balance the lightness and darkness of a picture and improve the visibility, the Brightness and Contrast Adjustment method is used.
